This research theme investigates sustainable cybersecurity, lightweight cryptography, post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and resilient security architectures for future networks. Our research focuses on developing energy-efficient security mechanisms for resource-constrained devices, quantum-resistant authentication and key exchange protocols, and hybrid classical–post-quantum security solutions. We also investigate the practical integration of PQC into 5G/6G, Open RAN and distributed computing infrastructures, considering computational overhead, latency, scalability and energy consumption.
The objective is to develop sustainable, quantum-safe and future-proof security architectures that ensure long-term confidentiality, integrity, availability and resilience while minimising the environmental and operational costs of cybersecurity.
